n June 6, we gathered for the last time in this beloved place we have known as the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd (LCGS). We give thanks for the ministry that has happened in this building since the time of its dedication in 1959, and for the people who have been fed and nurtured here in the Christian faith. Even as we mark the end of an era in one place, we acknowledge how we all are participants in God’s mission that continued beyond this day and these walls, just as we give thanks for the new congregation into which the Spirit has called us, Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
We were grateful for the presence of two former pastors of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd whose ministries enriched the lives of all who participated in the life of this congregation: Pastor David Kuck, who served LCGS from 1975 to 1980, and Pastor Daphne Burt, who served from 2012 to 2017. We were also grateful to welcome many members of the family of Pastor Michael Rowold, who served this congregation from 1980 to 1992.
