Although summer is still in full swing, school bells will soon be ringing. If you would like to support Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church’s “Back-to-School Backpack Project,” please bring your donations to church on Sunday, August 8th. The congregation is collecting backpacks and other school supplies to help stock the shelves of the Hamden Youth Services’ “School Supplies Closet” to benefit local families in need.
The backpacks and school supplies will be transferred to Hamden Youth Services, 11 Pine Street, the week of August 8.
The city’s “School Supplies Closet” was created to assist Hamden families who have difficulty providing the items their children need for school due to financial hardship. Read more about the project and program requirements here, or check the list below for suggested items.
Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is located at 600 Shepard Ave., Hamden, Connecticut.
