Thirteen backpacks, 33 spiral-bound notebooks, 22 sets of pencils, 21 composition books, 18 packs of crayons, 16 multipacks of Elmer’s Glue, 16 pocket portfolios, 14 packs of pens, 13 folders, 13 pencil sharpeners, 10 packs of erasers, nine pairs of scissors, nine packs of colored markers, eight rulers, eight rolls of scotch tape, seven binders, seven packs of index cards, six packs of dry erase markers and three calculators.
These are among the many items that were collected over the past month as part of Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church’s “Back-to-School Backpack Project” to benefit local families in need.
Thanks to all who so generously contributed school supplies, which will help stock the shelves of the Hamden Youth Services’ “School Supplies Closet,” located at the Keefe Community Center, 11 Pine Street. The items were delivered to the Keefe Center August 12 in time for 2021-22 school year.
