Team Christ the Good Shepherd–a small but mighty team whose members included a canine companion named “Cello”–“walked the walk” this summer in support of Calumet, an outdoor Lutheran ministry of the New England Synod (ELCA). The eight-member team representing Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran, Hamden, Connecticut, joined about 1,800 people and pets from across New England to raise funds for Calumet’s “Walk the Walk 2021” event, making it the most successful to date.
Headed up by Team Captain Cyndi Hansard, Team Christ the Good Shepherd logged an impressive 1,194 miles between July 1 and August 31, 2021, helping Calumet surpass its 200,000-mile goal. Total mileage for this year’s walk by all pets and people was approximately 270,000 miles, exceeding last year’s total of 115,000 miles and raising nearly $120,000. Read more here.
Calumet is located on beautiful Lake Ossipee in Freedom, New Hampshire, and offers year-round camping programs for youth, adults and families. Click here to learn more.
