This Christmas, you don’t need wings to be an angel. As the holiday season quickly approaches, the Salvation Army is once again looking for local “angels” to help provide Christmas gifts for children of families in need. Thanks to community support, the Salvation Army served 169 families through its “Angel Tree” program last year, bringing smiles and Christmas presents to 338 children in the Greater New Haven area.
The merging congregation of Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran participated in the “Angel Tree” program last year and will be participating again this year, purchasing gifts of toys and clothing to benefit 10 area children. Those interested in supporting the project are invited to select one or more tags from our “Angel Tree,” beginning Sunday, November 7. A signup sheet will be provided.
All unwrapped gifts (with “Angel Tags” attached) should be dropped off at church on Sunday, December 5. The gifts will be delivered to the Salvation Army in New Haven by Friday, December 10, for distribution to our Angel families.
