Pastor Josh led members of the congregation in a blessing of Christ the Good Shepherd’s new community garden following the morning worship service on Sunday, June 11. Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran joins Grace & St. John’s Episcopal Church, Hamden, in planting the gardens to provide fresh produce for the Hamden Food Bank. At Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran, three raised gardening beds were installed this spring under the leadership of Rob Hansen. Throughout the summer, congregational members will tend the garden, which will yield tomatoes, sweet peppers, squash, chard, basil and parsley.
