With the assistance of the “Why Us” team, who carefully filtered the insights of the congregation from our “Why Us” event on February 28, Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has formally adopted its new mission statement. Its development was distilled from a robust congregational conversation that examined five scripture readings that helped us reflect on and answer the question: “Why has God planted us here, in this place, today?”
On Monday, March 15, the Church Council unanimously voted to accept the proposed statement as the mission of our new congregation, Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church:
“Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is called and committed to building a vibrant, welcoming community to proclaim Christ, nurture the faith, serve others and bear bold witness to God’s love throughout the greater Hamden region and beyond.”
