Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Hamden, announces the following in-person and Zoom worship schedule for its 2021 Holy Week and Easter Sunday services:
Palm Sunday, the Sunday of the Passion
March 28, 10 a.m.
Blessing of the Palms. The Passion Story According to St. Mark. Holy Communion.
Outdoor In-Person Worship in the Courtyard (weather permitting) or Indoor Worship at 600 Shephard Avenue
Bring lawn chairs; folding chairs will also be available.
Appropriate social distancing will be in place; masks are required.
As we begin the week of the holiest days of our life together in Christ, we look forward to worshipping together in person. Outdoor worship will allow us to accommodate as many who want to come together for the first time since last fall’s outdoor services. In case of inclement weather, worship will be held inside at 600 Shepard Avenue. Because COVID protocols will still be in effect, including masking and social distancing, seating will be limited to 40 people. Thus, it will be necessary to make reservations ahead of time.
An email and a letter were sent to congregational members on Monday, March 22; please reply to indicate your interest in participating in the outdoor and indoor worship. Reservations will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Maundy Thursday, April 1

Gather with the disciples around the table as we see and hear Jesus give to us a new commandment to love one another as He loves us.

Good Friday, April 2
Worship via Zoom, 7 p.m.
On this holy night we gather at the foot of the cross to hear the story of Jesus’ Passion from the Gospel according to St. John, and pray the ancient yet always new Bidding Prayers embracing the whole creation in the outstretched arms of Christ on the cross.

Easter Sunday, April 4, 10 a.m.
Outdoor In-Person Worship in the Picnic Grove (weather permitting) or Indoor Worship at 3680 Whitney Avenue, Hamden
Bring lawn chairs; folding chairs will also be available.
Appropriate social distancing will be in place; masks are required.
Join the chorus of Alleluias and the shouts of “He is risen!” as we celebrate the festival of resurrection and new life, of God raising Jesus and giving birth to a new creation.
Once again, if the weather does not permit us to worship outside, worship will be held inside. Because we will be following COVID protocols, including masking and social distancing, seating will be limited to 45 people indoors. Thus, it will be necessary to make reservations for inside worship. Watch for a mailing early next week to make reservations for indoor worship and other details for Easter worship.
Our hope is to live-stream both in-person services for all those who will not be able to attend. More details will be posted by end of day Saturday, April 3, if available.
