Lace up those walking shoes and join the fun: Join members of Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Hamden, Connecticut, as they “walk the walk” for a great cause!
This summer, people of all ages—as well as their canine friends–are invited to participate in Walk the Walk 2021 to benefit Camp Calumet. Located on beautiful Lake Ossipee in Freedom, New Hampshire, Calumet is the ELCA’s outdoor ministry for New England, offering year-round camping programs and retreats for youth, adults and families.
For a $25 donation, you may walk as much as you like, wherever you like. Participants will be asked to track their miles daily through August 31 and report their mileage to their team captains at designated intervals. Sign up whenever you wish, but be sure to list your team as “Christ the Good Shepherd, Hamden, CT,” on your registration form. Cyndi Hansard is serving as Team Captain.
Last year, 1,000 people walked 115,000 miles in support of Calumet; this year, the goal is to have at least 1,500 walkers walk 200,000 miles.
