What is sex trafficking and where does it happen? You might be surprised to learn that it’s happening in our midst.
Please join us for an in-depth discussion with Detective Gill Gallagher of the Milford Police Department on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 3-5 pm at Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 600 Shepard Ave., in Hamden. During the program, which is open to the public, Detective Gallagher will discuss the following topics:
- What is Human Trafficking and Sex Trafficking? The difference in brief.
- Where does Sex Trafficking happen?
- How does it happen?
- Why do victims find it difficult or impossible to escape?
- How the police get involved.
- Warning signs that someone might be trafficked, and what we can do.
Questions are encouraged and light refreshments will be served following the discussion. There is no cost to attend, but donations of women’s underwear, travel-sized personal wipes or like-new sneakers are appreciated. All donations will support the Bloom Initiative through the Salvation Army. For more information, contact Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at (203) 288-3196.
