God’s Work, Our Hands donations have been pouring in as the deadline to this year’s initiative is rapidly approaching. The congregation of Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Hamden, has been gathering donations for the United Way Welcome Home Kits, which are due Sunday, Sept. 15.
In addition to bedding, pots and pans and cleaning supplies, we have also been gathering donations toward Bethesda Lutheran Church’s collection of period products (tampons and pads) as well as baby diapers for the Diaper Bank of Connecticut.
On Sept. 15, members of Christ Good Shepherd are invited to join other volunteers at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Haven, to assemble the Welcome Home Kits, or they can join Tabor Lutheran Church in Branford to assemble packaged meals for local food banks and pantries.
